Wasn't there a place called New Generation? What was it like?
What about Art Coley's?

Never heard of this place. When I was a little older there was an indoor playground in the Kennelworth Shopping center.

what is photon? Can someone tell what growing up in these time periods were like? did it have a stranger things/ freaks and geeks vibe? I think growing up then in BR was better then it is now.

Putter Patter was in the old Delchamps at Florida and Villa Del Ray. I remember going there for my ex girlfriends niece in the 90’s

BR was definitely better in the 80s. Stranger Things reminded me a lot of my childhood. The 80s was awesome.

Grew up in BR from 1979-2001.

I remember New Generation. I remember going there with my father when we bought our first computer - a Commodore 64 - in 1985. That computer was awesome.

I don't remember Art Coley's (what kind of place was that?) or the indoor kids place.

The roller rink and Don Carter's were great back then, as well as Celebration Station when it first opened. Putt Putt Golf, too. Went to many a birthday party at Fun Fair Park.

Children's Palace was the toy store of toy stores.

Baton Rouge was pretty damn good if you were a kid in those days.

Teen nightclub called 2010 that turned into another club called The Zoo after midnight. Was located behind Cortana Mall. Service merchandise was where Walmart is on College. IHOP on college was Western Sizzler- all you could eat ribs and Malibu chicken. Mansur’s and coffee call located right behind where ihop is now

Other than that little section of cortana mall with spaceport, the old broadmoor theatre, and Pancho’s, Baton Rouge really sucked in the mid-late 90’s. Just the number of abandoned buildings everywhere really sticks in my memory from that time. Thank goodness for Mike Foster and Kip Holden for turning Baton Rouge around somewhat.
