Huffington Post

quote:

As a black woman, Gordon battled the perception that most of today’s healthy food is “white people food.”

“A lot of the time, when you go to restaurants now, they have these extravagant salads with all these different ingredients in it, like little walnuts and pickled onions ? like the stuff Panera sells,” Gordon told HuffPost. “For me personally, that’s like a white person’s food. A lot of the mainstream stuff that’s advertised comes across as being for white people.”

Thoughts? Because I always associated Starbucks and sushi as white people foods...those things aren't exactly a healthy thing.

Stop the presses. Advertisers are targeting the largest market.

Gordon is a 37-year-old employee at an IT company in the Washington, D.C. area, and until recently, her diet was deeply saturated with fast food ? McDonald’s, Taco Bell, you name it. When her doctor diagnosed her last year with pre-diabetes and prescribed her a CPAP machine to help her sleep through the night, she began working with a nutritionist to clean up her diet. But the lifestyle change she sought would require more than cutting out Chicken McNuggets.

Not sure about white people food. I'd consider it just good decision making food. You can even get flashy and call it Personal Responsibility food

Jesus Christ. The EMP or collapse of the dollar or zombie infestation or plague can't get here fast enough.

Possible truth somewhere in that.
Like mcd’s targets black people in their commercials now.

But this more lies in the fact that everyone has a voice these days. Everyone in general are stupid.
That goes for all races and genders.

There is a beautiful thing about capitalism in a free country, you can walk out and eat whatever you want. Let the market decide what restaurants serve.

As long as we are being racist, I love black person's food. You know, red beans and rice, fried turkey wings, and greens. I just don't eat it everyday.

HuffPo makes a black people food pyramid with fried chicken and macaroni as the base but they're totally not racist.

Fun fact: fried chicken is of Scottish origin.

So she doesn’t like it because white people do?

That’s incredibly racist.
