There’s a reason everyone moves to the south when they retire

When it’s 100° I can be on a boat with a cold beer and it feels great with the breeze

When it’s 10° and windy like it is right now, nobody is doing shite

It’s also funny everyone I know that is in shape or modestly in shape, prefers warm weather because they like to sweat and be active

Every fat arse and obese person I know hates the heat and is always hot and sweating because they are carrying an extra 50-100 lbs of insulation

They like being inside when it’s cold and sitting their fat arse on the couch in their sweats

Winter.

Power was out and I got in bed under the blankets and my dog laid with me.

In summer if the power went out I'm naked and still sweating.

There’s still people in the north that hold on to that ideal, but I think it’s on the decline. For one reason it used to be much cheaper to buy in any part of Florida than it was in a comparable northern location. Most people I know in South Florida don’t plan on staying in state full-time during their retirement years.

Weather like this lasts for 2 or 3 days max down here. That 100+ degree summer lasted for months. I can handle this for a few days.

I’d never want the same weather all year long no matter what. I like that seasons change. My life and activities change with it.

Nope. Hunting would suck in that weather.

Scratch that. Hunting DOES suck in that weather.

My buddies in Cali wish they had seasons. When it’s 65-80 every day of the year they miss having a constant summer or winter during the holidays.

Plus it makes you soft

I'd like to have summer all year long where I live and if I wanted to experience the other seasons, I'd just travel to them.

screw this winter freezing cold nonsense.

What we have down South should be called something beyond summer.

Well that’s stupid because I’m in great shape and very active outdoors and I LOVE cold weather much much more than the hot arse summertime here. Lived in the NW previously and if it didn’t drizzle for 9 months the weather there is incredible.

I know I’m probably a rare breed but I consider winter my running season. I like bundling up and going at it. I can run so much farther and faster in the cold. But I hate grabbing my weight bar in my non climate controlled gym when it’s like this.

I prefer running in the colder weather also, but the ice and snow puts a damper on that.

I had a home gym set up in my shed for years. Winter was not a factor. Summers were a little rough but I managed until this past summer. I moved my setup into the house to stay.
