While that is definitely true, I think that's only half the coin.
Most girls don't want to be pictured with someone more attractive than them. And I'd assume that is especially true on a dating app where they are vying for male attention. So by that standard, it would be dumb of 5 to post this picture on her profile since she is by far the least attractive one.
My guess is 3 or 6.

Unsurprisingly, its more complicated than that for women. If they see themselves as unattractive, they will fill their profile with group pics containing women clearly hotter than them. They're attempting to hide themselves and market their profile with the attractiveness of their friends. In some cases, they only post group pics and you have no idea which girl the profile is for. My theory is a lot of guys will swipe right on these profiles, because they contemplate the profile could be one of the more attractive women. Men also have to swipe through many more profiles than women to get the same number of matches, so we don't have time to hyper analyze each profile. This fat girl technique will also surely get likes from the fast swipers that swipe within less than a second of viewing the profile.
The whole thing is foolish, because they have to show themselves sooner or later, and they're just wasting everyone's time.
I've swiped through tens of thousands of girls profiles on dating apps. Its most likely #5
