None. No one has fought for our "freedoms" since 1945

Well we had to get payback for 9/11 in Afghanistan. Desert Storm was pretty well a given as well. Iraqi Freedom I was all for until it became clear that there were no WOMD's and that we had no clear plan in place once we kicked their arses again. Can't comment on Vietnam since that shite was before my time but it is pretty clear that unless Murica gets fricked with directly, the American people do not like to send the good guys to go get in harms way.

Probably some truth to that but I always thought from a military stand point it was to gain a bigger military presence further north to better police other countries and protect isreal.

Grenada
Korea, Viet Nam and Gulf I involved an aggressor trying to take over another country...so that had some basis (although we pick and choose our countries and aggressors). But they didn't keep us free.
The Bush/Cheney/Woolfitz war was maniacal.

World War 2's victory didn't keep us free, because Hitler wanted only to be Master of Europe.
Nazi Germany had no desire to conquer the USA.
Would you say that the USA was duped into fighting a bloody war?
Roosevelt lied and people died.
The USA had no business in fighting in World War One. Germany didn't attack the USA. The USA was again duped into fighting a bloody war by British propaganda.
Same goes for the Spanish American War. The USS Maine blew up due to faulty gunpowder, not Spanish terror attacks.
US vs. Mexico War was a straight up war of aggression by the USA against Mexico.
American Revolution was an act of Treason against Great Britain perpetrated by rich White American slaveholders who wanted to protect their wealth against a mother country that was turning against slavery.
I could go on and on. I can make arguments all day long that the USA is an illegitimate, illegal entity that has neither moral nor legal basis to exist.
But, that would make me a Leftist, which I am not.

i really always thought that was the impetus for the younger Bush to push the button and start it .. The military presence establishment was and is certainly a good one .. Just wondering aloud what degree we had to take it to ..

All of this. War sucks and hasn't been waged in defense of our freedoms since WWII.

Hd we let the Soviets take AFghanistan there never would be a Taliban.
Had we left Saddam in charge, Iran would be in check and ISIS (if they even existed) would be nothing more than a nuisance.
We sort of didn't "win" Vietnam.
Korea, we at least made it so the southern half was fine, of course that was the entire UN to boot.

are either of those a concern for the US?
Better protect Israel, by taking out it's biggest threats's biggest enemy?
Yeah great strategy.

Don't ask me. Didn't say I agreed with it. Which is why I used the word police. I do not believe it's our role to police the world.

almost all the wars are lies
just profit making ventures for those who love money more than they love people.
you either know that or not....

Is this your way of saying the lives that were lost for this country that are being honored this weekend do not matter?

Vietnam, on the domestic front. The marxists tried to take over like they did during WW1 and WW2 and we defeated them, for the time being.
