AP2's and it isn't even a debate. If you're a 10 handicap there is no need for you to be playing with a set of the 1's.

You can't say that for sure. Maybe he's a 10 because he hits it like a 15 and has the short game of a 5. AP1s are easier to hit and more forgiving. A 10 handicap doesn't need to work the ball very much...it's much more important to hit the ball solid and at your target at that level. I'd be willing to bet a 10 would consistently score better with AP1s than AP2s. I don't understand the thought process of trying to play irons that are more difficult to hit.

OP, the correct answer to your question is to first get fit for your irons, then pick one that you're most comfortable with. Personally, I think having the right shaft in whatever irons you decide to go with will help you much more than picking between 2 types of heads.

I just got a full set of new JPX. Things are stupid easy to hit, but I'm also very new to golf.

What do you use for your driver and woods?

Go for a combo set. Order 4-6 in the AP1 and 7-PW in the AP2.

I got fitted and ended up in the Callaway Apex CF16. Talk about long and forgiving.

I just got the new XR driver. I thought the TM M1 would fit me best, but it ended up being about 3rd during the fitting. I have the M1 3wood, and it might be my favorite club in my bag behind my Betti BB1.

You need to get with a Titleist rep. They can order individual irons.

This is objectively dumb.

The AP2 716's are crap. Small club face and minimal distance. This is why Jordan Spieth didn't put them in his bag. Just changed the 4 to a 6 to help sell golf clubs.

So your saying the 714's are crap too? Then why did Speith go back to using those?

He never changed, stuck with the 714's which are awesome. Great distance and feel.
