Might be biased but Alabama and Florida are both pretty cool.

I don’t hate that they replaced the old flag because it was inevitable. I don’t understand why the new one had to look like someone made it in MS Paint. Same with Minnesota and Utah.

Get ready. The simplified flag ideology is catching on and more states will adopt a new version of their flag in the coming decades. Especially the state seal on blue background or “Bonnie Blue” states.

I've always liked the Louisiana flag with the pelicans.

I see a bunch of good flags there, including the current one which is sweet as hell. It clearly beats the Denny's placemat of a flag the shitheads in charge voted in previously.

The Onion came up with one:

The South Carolina flag is attractive and steeped in revolutionary war history.
The crescent was from the silver badge on their leather helmets in earlier conflicts which continued in use during the revolution. The palmetto tree was placed on the flag in honor of the logs used in building the supports at Sullivan's Island redoubts when the British fleet was repelled from entering Charleston harbor. The palmetto logs would crumble when struck by canon balls rather than splinter, so sand was held back without endangering the men serving the canon. Most European military personnel expected the splinters would have killed all of the gun crews, but losses were light.
There was a red and a blue version, but the blue became the official military and state flag.
