BATON ROUGE — A 25-year-old registered sex offender has been charged with secretly recording women at the Mall of Louisiana.

Tyler Washington’s arrest in the new crime came just two months after his conviction in Livingston Parish on previous video voyeurism and stalking charges.

His probation in the Livingston Parish case has now been revoked, court records show.

He was formally charged Friday with felony video voyeurism in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Washington was arrested in Baton Rouge on Aug. 26 after a woman reported to security that she had seen him recording video of unsuspecting women’s buttocks at Sephora, his arrest affidavit said. Mall security tracked him down at Buckle inside the mall, where police detained him. Washington asked officers if he could be released with a warning, the affidavit said.

Police found that he had been arrested three times before on video voyeurism charges and booked him into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, the affidavit said. He was later transferred to Livingston Parish jail on probation violations.

He had been arrested in 2025 in Livingston Parish for similar conduct, along with stalking. After his initial arrest, several other victims came forward.

Livingston court records show he was sentenced June 22 on eight counts of video voyeurism – one involving a child under 17 – and two counts of stalking. His five-year prison sentence was suspended and he was put on probation for five years. That probation was revoked Tuesday, court records show.

Baton Rouge Police records show he is also banned from the mall for five years.
