My wife is in medical school, and she probably studies 8-10 hours per day including weekends. A normal week for her is like mid term or finals week like I experienced back in grad school.

I tried to help her with her pharmacology flash cards and it felt like I was struggling with an entirely different language.

. From what they said there is a higher drop out rate in law school than med school.

The support system is there for people who make it through Med School. If you finish in the bottom half of your class at Law School the career office will treat you as a piece of furniture.

This is true. The attrition % for med school is quite small IIRC

I could see law being a much more competitive environment than engineering, making it potentially more stressful.

But that varies too. Baylor, which isn't some elite school obviously, may have the worst reputation in the country for competition and stress. Meanwhile, all of us got along great during law school.

My wife is in nursing school, and I completely agree with trying to help with pharm prep. I can only imagine the MD version.

Yep. LSU basically tells you to find your own shite if you are not top 20-25%. I think long term employment rates are pretty high so most people end up with something.

Engineering requires the most intellect.

Law and med school just require the ability to remember what you read. It depends very little on intellect.

Obviously you were IE

It's pretty simple actually. I did it. You just wanted to argue.

That's what they said. It's hard to get in but once you're in they make sure you go to class and stay caught up. In law school they don't care if you're there or not, you just have to pass the test and that's on you.

Did you miss my first sentence of that post, or the many engineers in this thread saying no way is it engineering?

I'm speaking from personal experience, not this thread. I wasn't being totally serious; it's a joke between my wife and I about a few people we are friends with/went to school with.

Med school, for time and volume, is the hardest. But I have several friends in residency at the moment and they all say it wasn't hard in terms of thinking, it was just vast memorization (and connecting the dots) and 18 hour studying days in med school and now literally 24 hour working days in residency.

Some people actually find the clinical rotations and subsequent residency positions easier than the classroom work the first two years. I think I can understand that.

Can't say I'd disagree. I hear it a lot with student is (insert program here) about how tough their curriculum is. Everyone always seems to have it harder than everyone else.

Getting my BS was pretty painless, so I know ours isn't the hardest

You failed at it though, so really you didn't do it.

If you want to call it that, I guess.

There is no way she only gets one day off per month.

I don't have good grades in ME, but I still don't think the material is that hard conceptually. Just this semester, I switched to being allowed to take tests in an isolated environment. My grades went from C's and D's to A's and B's. If I can do it, pretty much anyone can

Law school isn't necessarily easy, depends on the school, but it seems much easier than med school.

So engineering isn't the hardest. Thanks for helping my cause.
