We were having a discussion with my youngest last night about pseudonyms, stage names and name changes. We started working on a list of all the interesting ones we could think of.
Below are some examples, what are some other good ones?
Mark Twain
Chad Ochocinco
Nicolas Cage
Dr. Suess
Bob Dylan
Muhammad Ali
George Orwell
Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam
Metta World Peace
Tiger Woods
Hulk Hogan
Pelé
Evel Knievel
Bono
Whoopi Goldberg
Harvey Mushman
Ziggy Stardust
Larry the Cable Guy
Ram Dass
Ms Cleo
Slash
Billy the Kid
D.B. Cooper (does that count?)
Ho Chi Minh
Pol Pot
Kid Rock
Baby Face George Nelson
Alexander Supertramp

I don’t know that I would consider these pseudonyms.

Jesse Owens was really named JC Owens but his teacher misunderstood him when he was a kid and said his name on the first day of school IIRC

LL Cool J
Johnny Cash was legally just J. R. Cash, but when he joined the USAF he had to have an actual first name, not initials, so he used John, which was what his mom wanted to name him to begin with.

Stone Cold Steve Austin was only called Austin because Steve Williams was an already popular wrestler, Dr. Death.

Serious question: what was with people naming their kids initials back then?

Genghis Khan
ETA:
Adolf Hitler isn't a bad one either, considering his birth name was Fischel Bagelsteinbaumberg
