I had tons of birthday parties there with the little private rooms under the covered part.

My 3rd birthday, in one of those rooms. Brightly colored benches and the "car" ride that faced the Airline highway access road. Pretty sure there are pics with me and cholate ice cream all over my dress on that day. Did the smoking monkey have a name?

The elderly lady at The Broadmoor Theater was Mrs. Kirby. The chimp at Fun fair Park was Candy.

Candy was at Blue Bayou/Dixie Landing until her death in 2017 and still had smoking habit.

I wish Piccadilly could be restored to its former glory. I went the other day to the Essen location and its pitiful...and terrible food.

depending on how old you are I probably set up and ran the rides for one of your parties. Fun fair park was run by my Uncle Sam and aunt verna. We used to have to go run the big rides when the real operators didn’t show up for work. The wild mouse had a throw lever like a railroad switch. Once you engaged it it was 100% out of your hands as to what would happen.

good times

Skate city on Florida Blvd. Good place to meet girls from Denham Springs. Also liked Coney Island , an Arcade on Florida Blvd by Broadmoor.

I remember riding bikes down Groom road on Saturday mornings to the donut shop.

Then walking up Groom Rd to hang out at Sportsman’s Corner and talk to Mr. Frank about hunting and fishing.

Sad I wouldn’t be caught dead in that area now without fear of being shot.

Also, made out with a lot of girls at the skating rink in Baker.
