I’ve got a great picture of my grandpa in his service greens in Germany with his 1911 slung low on his hip just like out of an old cowboy movie. His cap is on ever so tilted to the side and he’s got this little smirk on his face he used to have. It’s such a great picture and pretty much captures his personality perfectly.
Miss him very much this time of year. Thanksgiving was always about three things: family, football, and wrestling.

Hugo Boss, a company that is still known for its men's fashions, designed the German uniforms.
They win in that regard. Though one of my fvorite quotes from WW2 came from a German POW.
"As I moved through their front, I knew our war was lost. The Americans had not one horse in sight, but what looked like trucks and (Jeeps) for every man. When one broke, it was pushed aside for the next. The Americans brought their own food in such numbers as to easily feed every man and our men too. I had heard America was a rich country, now I knew what that meant"

That’s not even a question. The Nazis, as fricked up as they were, had some of the best looking uniforms in the history of military.

The SS in the camps had access to some of Europe's finest tailors and most had their uniforms custom made; obviously, access, too, to some of the finest leather taken from the millions murdered.
