But that's mostly because it easily the most hyped thing on Earth. For most people, sex is built up in their mind as the end-all, be-all of human existence. Sex could never live up to that kind of hype.
We are inundated with messages about sex and/or using sexuality. I don't think anything else is remotely in the same ballpark in how much it is used to market and sell things.
