Preparing to temporarily flee my sad, dark and damaged city for a Mardi Gras in Disney World with my wife and 3 kids under 9 yrs old; seeking some normalcy and light and laughter, no matter how artificial.

20 years ago I was in a downward spiral with school, my first-love, and pretty much everything else.

And I wouldn’t go back and change it for the world. My experiences along the way made me the man I am today, and blessed me with my beautiful wife and children.

God is Great.

Managed and was the attorney for a title company in OKC and our main client was a subprime residential lender. We were still busy but it started to slow a bit later in 06. I felt the business was going south and started working in oil and gas but turned my former employer into a long term client.

I was still single and lived in an apartment. In several ways 06 was the last year in a certain phase of my life.

8th grade, trying to keep from killing a little brother. Dreaming about what it would be like to be an adult and not have to listen to my parents stupid rules.

My dad reminds me every day that God gave me girls for a reason. It's payback for all the hell I raised.

Two in diapers at the same time?

We excelled at potty training and had the older out of diapers completely in about two months post new baby. These two are so special to me there’s no doubt it was meant to be as it is.

Last semester at FSU grad school. I would have been drinking and smoking pot at someone’s apartment by now. I had sort of aged myself out of the bar scene at 24-25 by then.

I had just started the instrumentation course at Pearl River Community College. Graduated 17 months later, started the job I have now on July 1st, 2007. One of the best decisions I ever made. Two more diplomas since then, but none as important as that one decision.

Settling back in to the remote work routine at my first house in Slidell, following the holidays.

I had 7 more months in that house.

Edit: Sorry, was thinking January 2005.

2006 I was starting my first travel gig for work in Hoboken, NJ, right across the Hudson from NYC. Also my first visits to NYC that January.

It was bitter cold with a strong wind coming off the Hudson.

Well 20 years ago was 1980, so I definitely wouldn't be on the internet posting on message boards right now.
