Some friends and I are looking to go skiing over the Mardi Gras break in February. Anyone here have any tips for places to go during that time?
Places to go that won't break the bank? TIA

Skiing is expensive. Are you including flights, room and board, and lift tickets in that?
I would first see where the cheapest flights are to.
Check Denver for the Colorado places, SLC for Park City, and Reno (or Sacto) for Tahoe.
Find the cheapest flights and go from there.
You can also find places like a Boone NC.

Travel board has a skiing/boarding thread. Probably a good place to start

If you are just paying for yourself, you can probably do it. Fly to Denver and drive to one of the closest resorts. I think Winter Park has lift tickets that aren't insanely expensive.

There was a couple decent watering holes but yea your right..I was also let down and that was back in 2013.
Fly to Denver and drive the hour west to Keystone.

Maybe Snowshoe in West Virginia. I don't know that you could do that for 1k with lodging and everything else.

If you’re on a $1000 budget, you can’t afford to ski AND party. I wouldn’t worry about the town aspect at that price point.

I drove to Snowshoe with about 10 friends when I was in college for 3-4 days over new years eve one year. Long arse drive but I was 20 or 21 and that is how we did it then.
One of my top 10 trips ever. Had a blast. Might have cost 5 or 6 hundred maybe? Think we had a couple of suites at about 300 A night for both. Split all the costs of everything 10 ways, guys and girls. Skied all day got hammered all night. Definitely doable with a group for well under 1k.
