I don't really see how you can do it if you plan to fly. ANYWHERE you fly at that time of year in the skiing areas will cost you a minimum of $500 for the flight. Now you have $500 left to work with. In the areas I've been, lift tickets are about $85-100/day, but you MAY be able to find some BOGO deals, so for 2 days minimum, you are looking at another $100 about. I assume you don't have your own skis, so that's another $40 minimum. Still, you haven't gotten place to stay. I've never seen anything that you'd wanna sleep in for under $100/night, so 3 nights will be easily over $300. Your $1000 is pretty much gone and you haven't had a bite to eat.
I would say, if you bargain shop (not counting clothes) you could do it for about $1500.
Like someone said....Skiing is expensive.
