Just checked prices at Snowshoe.
Mid February silvercreek lodge 124 a night for 3 nights and 4th night is free. Studio apartment.
3 day lift ticket is 149.
4 nights, 3 days of skiing at the best place on the east coast.
$525 total.

That’s not a bad deal. Thank you for looking that up, is snowshoe a good place to ski? Good snow, easy or hard mountain?

Hands down Gatlinburg is the cheapest place to learn to ski. Good choice for a group of first timers.

Went a few years ago. Of course we went with a large group so we kind of brought our own party. Didn't really care that much what the town was like.

Fly in to Denver. Can find flights for under $150 from most major airports. Rent a car for about $10/person per day. Can get a condo that sleeps 4 at Copper Mountain for about $60 per person/night. $100/day lift tickets, $40/day ski rentals. You won’t find a better combination of affordability, size of mountain, smaller crowds than Copper.

You need to head West for any decent skiing. That sounds like it will involve a flight so I would start there.

Wolf Creek is the best answer. I could drive there from San Angelo tx in about 10 hours. Highest average snowfall in the Rockies. Lift tix are like $60. Accommodations in south Fork are dirt cheap.

I just don't see how you do this unless you plan on driving and/or already own a lot of your ski equipment. By the time you factor in flights, car rental (very few places are close enough to airports), lodging, ski rental, lift tickets, bib, googles, gloves, jacket, etc you are WELL over $1000 It isn't so bad if you already own the clothes/gear and can drive there. Then it might be possible.
