My daughter's wedding reception was at the Old Governor's Mansion 502 North Street, Baton Rouge. Old Governor's Mansion

We've had friends use Boudreaux's on Government Street as well.

Forrest Grove Plantation in Denham Springs. My friend had her daughter's wedding there. It's a beautiful venue and less expensive than Baton Rouge.

There are a lot of places. What is your budget? What kind of food do you want? Open bar. Cash bar, or no bar?

I don't think I ever heard someone having a 65th wedding anniversary. But look into Drusilla or a casino. Old folks seem to like both.

Our wedding reception was Heidelberg at the Hilton downtown. 10th floor looking out over the city and the river and the Hilton does catering.

Some of those old people medicines shouldn’t be mixed with alcohol anyway.

Especially if they want to watch Matlock

For my parents.....they are in incredible shape for their age and will put us all to shame dancing..money is not an issue..just want a fun time for all and beautiful venue for my mom..she loves a party.
Food - heavy hors d' oeuvres and maybe something fun like seafood fried onsite by a caterer with all the sides..soft drinks beer and wine provided...set ups and byob hard liquor...
A nice cake for them to cut..etc.
Will have a band
Want it to be nice and fun but not stuffy.

Had my wedding here back in 2015. At the time I believe the owners had just bought the property. Didn’t have all the spaces it does now, but was a great time. Food was fantastic. Owners were great. I think I remember my little brothers friend though getting a little to tipsy and wouldn’t leave the owners daughter alone (family helped work the venue).

Had rehearsal dinner in the wine cellar at Chimes. Small space but nice if you don’t have a large crowd.
