Maybe I'm terrible at math, but my calculations don't go that high.

The Africans were enslaving their own people. It wasn't the White American's who came up with slavery...

Came from Africa, still going in Africa.
But we are to blame putting an end to it here in the U.S.
Simple.

So if it's only 400 hours does that make it any less egregious? 2/10 on the troll

Egyptians were enslaving jews literally thousands of years before that.

Because you greedy white devils would have enslaved black folks for 400 years if you could so we'll just make that the number.
Posted on 6/25/15 at 9:04 am to cubsfan5150
The blacks in Africa sold their own slaves to the whites in America.

The First Atlantic system was the trade of enslaved Africans to, primarily, South American colonies of the Portuguese and Spanish empires; it accounted for slightly more than 3% of all Atlantic slave trade. It started (on a significant scale) in about 1502[39] and lasted until 1580 when Portugal was temporarily united with Spain. While the Portuguese were directly involved in trading enslaved peoples, the Spanish empire relied on the asiento system, awarding merchants (mostly from other countries) the license to trade enslaved people to their colonies. During the first Atlantic system most of these traders were Portuguese, giving them a near-monopoly during the era. Some Dutch, English, and French traders also participated in the slave trade.[40] After the union, Portugal came under Spanish legislation that prohibited it from directly engaging in the slave trade as a carrier. It became a target for the traditional enemies of Spain, losing a large share of the trade to the Dutch, English and French.
The Second Atlantic system was the trade of enslaved Africans by mostly English, Portuguese, French and Dutch traders. The main destinations of this phase were the Caribbean colonies and Brazil, as European nations built up economically slave-dependent colonies in the New World.[41] Slightly more than 3% of the enslaved people exported from Africa were traded between 1450 and 1600, and 16% in the 17th century.
Looks like closer to 500 years to me.

The best part about all of this shite is I'm guessing the # of people in today's "movement" have no fricking clue about their own history.

Well Africans sold conquered people to slave traders, who then sold them to slave transporters who then sold them to slave markets who then sold them to the plantation class.
Yes, it is true though that the Black people bear just as much responsibility for slavery as white people, and in many eyes even more responsibility.

According to John K. Thornton, Europeans usually bought enslaved people who were captured in endemic warfare between African states.[23] Some Africans had made a business out of capturing Africans from neighboring ethnic groups or war captives and selling them.[24] A reminder of this practice is documented in the Slave Trade Debates of England in the early 19th century: "All the old writers... concur in stating not only that wars are entered into for the sole purpose of making slaves, but that they are fomented by Europeans, with a view to that object."[25] People living around the Niger River were transported from these markets to the coast and sold at European trading ports in exchange for muskets and manufactured goods such as cloth or alcohol.[26] However, the European demand for slaves provided a large new market for the already existing trade.[27] While those held in slavery in their own region of Africa might hope to escape, those shipped away had little chance of returning to Africa.

Sex slavery is an ancient tradition that has dated back to the greeks. It is no laughing matter and you should not take it so lightly. Offended. RA'd.

I said this once to a black history teacher and she denied it. She said slaves were "captured" by the slavers. Yes, but 99% of these "slavers" were black.
African slavery started in Africa. (hell slavery there is thousands of years old)

Well maybe they can go take up their cause elsewhere.

The same math calculation that was used to get 40 acres and a mule.

1865-1492=373 which rounds up to 400.
Also, slavery of Africans by Europeans existed prior on the Canary Islands (which first began roughly around 1402).

You might not be terrible at math, but you're terrible at history.
