This is what I settled on. You can’t beat the convenience and price. I believe it actually taste better than anything out of a Keurig machine as well.

JURA S8. I’m 20+ years on the Jura train. Best coffee I’ve ever had.

I got one as a gift about 10 years ago and I've been ruined ever since. Now I can't drink normal coffee.

FYI

Nestlé makes money from you buying pods. If yours does break and you call for parts, they’ll usually just send you a new one

This question is interesting because if you want the best coffee you can't beat buying quality whole beans, grinding them then using a French press. That gives you the most full bodied quality coffee complete with the oils.

Next would be a fresh ground bean into a pour over like Chemex through a filter (provided you heat water to proper temperature).

But I interpreted this as what is the best coffee "machine". Keurig and Nespresso are both very convenient but Nespresso is better.

But like many have said, Jura seems to be the best I have found. It is not without some minor annoying maintenances like changing of filter (if you use it), emptying the coffee ground container, and cleaning and descaling the machine (20 min and 45 min).

The Jura also has the ability to customize the bean grind amount and coffee strength/volume per pour. It took me several cups to get it dialed in.

The one peeve I have with it is that you can't place larger to go cups under the spouts for larger pours (but that is the same issue w Nespresso/keurig too).

I do enjoy not having to clean/wash a coffee pot. And I really like not having to purchase the branded cups/pods like the other machines force you to do.

I can buy whatever beans I want and the coffee is made perfect every time.

Pro Tip for those that read my post- Use alkaline water to brew with as it cuts the acidity and makes for a smoother cup. Enjoy

I’ve been thinking about an AeroPress. Can you just use regular pre ground bean or does it use a particular grind?

You can use whatever grind you like. The coffee I use, has a finer grind. It seriously makes the best coffee.

This is how I do it. LINK

I have a breville barista express for my espresso, a ninja brand percolator and keep a French press at the camp.

Usually make my wife and I some sort of espresso drink then I’ll have a cup or 2 from the percolator every morning.
The ninja has different modes like classic, strong ,cold and specialty brew(4oz espresso like)
It work good but doesn’t compare to the type of pour you get from the breville. Once you get the hang of it it’s a game changer in the quality of coffee you can make.
