OT favorites Nola, BR, and Shreveport are looking as rough as ever.

So many small towns that seem awesome, but then posters destroy and talk terrible about them.

Houses and cost of living thru the roof....

Whats a baw/bawette to do???

State your case on where someone moving to the boot should live.

Dont move here, Texas and anywhere but here will not be accepted.

Definitely avoid the False River area and St Francisville. Tell your friends that too.

Go to Gonzales or Covington or some other generic suburb.

I've been told that Natchitoches is nice. It's a college town so there may be some liberals and diversity there if that bothers you.

What kind of work do you do? Pretty important info in order to give a half decent answer.

Jennings has some fine old fixer uppers a person could pick up for a deal. The town offers easy access to I-10, an old train station and Darrell's

If you’re looking to escape you can catch some foreclosures for sale in Washington parish really cheap. Bogalusa gets kicked around for the smell and the culture but the smell really isn’t bad since the chemical plant left. Also I live outside the city and I never smell the mill. Franklinton area is nice but does have a pet food plant that gets smelly periodically. Private schools all around that are cheap.(<$6,000 for two kids). Definitely get outside the city of either, even though Franklinton isn’t bad at all, just the food plant.

Also full of abandoned homes a person could pick up at sherriff's sales.

What kind of diversity? Political? Religious? Clothes? Hair color?

I hope there is diversity of thought on the college faculty, that would be nice

What kind of lifestyle do you want?

How far of a drive do you want to be from grocery stores, restaurants, and other conveniences of life?

Do you want to be in the suburbs? City? or do you want to look out your back door and see miles of fields and trees?

There is no place I know of to have city type convenience and rural type openness.

We have different definitions of “normal” if your go-to description of yourself is “God fearing”
