It's in New South Arkansas.

If you’re looking to escape you can catch some foreclosures for sale in Washington parish really cheap. Bogalusa gets kicked around for the smell and the culture but the smell really isn’t bad since the chemical plant left. Also I live outside the city and I never smell the mill. Franklinton area is nice but does have a pet food plant that gets smelly periodically. Private schools all around that are cheap.(<$6,000 for two kids). Definitely get outside the city of either, even though Franklinton isn’t bad at all, just the food plant.

Yikes.

Old Mandeville by the lake or old town Covington.
I may one day live in a semi rural area, but it sure as hell won’t be in this state. There is always trash nearby no matter where you live here.

If you want to escape the chaos Louisiana is not the place to do it.

Try beautiful West Feliciana Parish
Clean air and water
Zero crime
Top rated public schools
25 minutes to BR Airport or state capital.

I would say Ruston or Northside Monroe but the OT declared a few days back that those towns are in Arkansas now.

While we ware at it I’d like to find 50-100 acres within 90 minutes of BR/NOLA with a pond to start paying on to retire one day. OT land folks help me find something.

White Castle, Donaldsonville, down Bayou Lafourche, and in the Brusly's. Plenty of land.

Iberville Parish, West Baton Rouge Parish, Assumption Parish.. You can find places cheaper than you will find in other areas and still be close to Baton Rouge. Iberville and Assumption if you want to live in more rural areas.

People will probably shite on these places, but this board is filled with idiots I wouldn't put much into what they say.

Name me a place within 90 min of BR/NOLA where 50-100 acres are available.

It's ok, though. That area is not for everyone. To each his own

False River and St Francisville are perfectly nice. We just don’t want people moving there and turning it into Ascension Parish.

So tell them to stay away.
