It's not difficult to get a test. But asymptomatic people don't need a test. What's the point? I get tested today, it comes back negative, but I contract it a day later.

This is absolutely true, as long as you have COVID symptoms. They aren't going to waste a test on you if you are symptom free.

I don’t understand the calls for mass testing. Are we going to test the entire population daily?

Antibody tests could tell us how many are immune, I would love to see what some sampling in NYC, New Orleans and Seattle would reveal.

In light of the recent studies from China and S Korea which indicate you can get it a second time, How do we know people who were exposed the first time are immune and won’t get it a second time?

To obtain true infection numbers. From which more accurate mortality can be calculated. To alleviate public fears that this is anything more than a condensed, more contagious "flu".

Why do I need tests? I'm not sick, I don't know anyone who is sick. Some of my co-workers had the flu in January, but since then I haven't been aware of illness in my circle.

True. Plus, it's been clearly stated over and over that one of the primary issues is processing the tests, which involves much more than waiting for the result. Recording the info, etc. What would a sudden inundation of test requests across the entire country do to that already existing issue? It would cause severe delay for those waiting their turn and awaiting their results who obviously needed to be there, as opposed to the hordes of people there simply as precautionary matter or just to say they did to make themselves feel a little better.
