What? I don't think those two places are comparable in any way

South or North Dakota, maybe Idaho.
I'm debating just backing bags selling my house and heading out to Idaho.

I’ve lived in Baton Rouge forever. It’s terrible.

Give me Southern Utah/Northern Arizona

I’m specifically avoiding major cities, but while you may not agree with the politics, the New England states - particularly Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine would be my pick.

Raleigh-Durham NC or Boulder CO.

Great places throughout NC, SC, VA and PA...experience the 4 seasons, but in moderation.

Also, many places in NH, VT and ME are great, but very cold in winter.

Cold winters aren't bad at all if you have the appropriate gear. The only real shitty thing about them is driving.

NH and ME are really nice. VT is great, too, but their politics are a little too much for me. I guess, though, that they're less authoritarian leftist and more do-goody leftist, which is much more palatable.

Have you ever been to college Station or Oxford or Starkville? Those are cities with no reason other than the college. Get your head out of your arse.

There are much worse places to live than BR. But when your argument is “we’re better than Starkville” it’s not a great look.

Starkville isn't half as bad as people like to pretend.

I try to stay down the hill from the snow. It's pretty on occasion but do not want to put up with it for days.
