No it doesn’t.

It’s about as stupid as a black person calling themselves the N word. Makes it easy to profile someone as an idiot.

Hey, didn't coonasses get genocided in Canada? You might want to check into that.

I don’t give a shite, because I’m not a sky-screaming overly sensitive little bitch.

Back in the 90’s, before returning to active duty, i served in the 159th FW at the NAS in Belle Chasse. We were known as the Coonass Militia. Participated in Red Flag (we flew F-15s) one year and proceeded to kick the active duty’s butt. Some general was offended by the Coonass name and we were ordered to change it. From then on, we were known as the Bayou Militia.

Referring to myself and other Cajun people as coonasses around the "woke" crowd gives me great joy. They seriously don't understand it, and one even told me it was racist against African Americans ( ).

This dumb bitch from Florida that was in my wife’s grad school class tried to tell me that it was racist. People are stupid

If you're really a coonass you won't be offended by it. I tend to call all folks from Louisiana coonasses. I figured it was about like calling us Arkansans rednecks or hillbillies.

I'm proud to be called a redneck. But I'm also not a gaping vagina

There is no difference between a redneck, hillbilly, or coonass. Same thing just different locations.

You have to be kidding me! I thought it was thinking of a lowly animals lowly place. A raccoon and its' poo hole. And then calling people who had cajun accents that name. Growing up my cajun pony league baseball coach came unravelled when one of the kids called him a coonass. I took it he and perhaps many similar people did not like it way back then. Today maybe it is a term of endearment.

Only dipshits who have never spent enough time in South Louisiana do this. However, actual Cajuns do use the coonass term as badge of pride similar to hillbilly or redneck. Don’t go calling people from Monroe or Shreveport coonasses. If they accept it, they’re liars.

It’s a melting pot of cajuns from the west side of the river, river rats, rednecks from the Florida parishes and yat transplants. BR is a very strange place.

Definitely not majority Cajun.
