I was being a picky a-hole, but the way you said it is better.

War usually cures anger over economic unrest, not social unrest.

So, we are at war...increasing our activity. One ends, a new one begins.

It already has come crashing down

We all spend half the time in our lives someplace we hate so we can give half of it to pedophiles

I get the point. I don't need a brand new SUV every year. My 18 year old Tahoe runs like a top. I don't need a 2500 sf house because the 1000 sf one I live in now is fine.

I have no problem admitting my faults. I often come on too aggressive when I don't mean things to be like that. Sorry baw.

Thanks for giving me permission to resume talks in your thread.

That's all it was.

I could have worded it much better.

Was just pointing out all of these aren't basic needs...

In a civilized society they are. If you just want to exist and be alive then yeah maybe they aren't if you're ok being a hobo shitting on the street.

To live in a home you need to pay rent/mortgage which requires insurance. To pay rent/mortgage you need a job. To have a job you need to have transportation. And obviously to live you need food and water.

They may not have been basic survival needs when we were cavemen but they are basic needs today

This is my prediction. There will be a small ultra-rich class and the masses who won't be able to own anything, and they will instead be forced to rent from companies like BlackRock.

People on welfare are already richer than Jeff bezos

Even Jeff can’t afford to eat crab legs and t bones every day like food stamp people

You could then specify which ones you deem to be not basic.

Utility rates. Groceries. Insurance rates. Rent/Owning costs. Gas prices. Vehicle prices. This is basic needs.

So food, shelter and transportation aren't basic needs? The OP did a good job of separating those things from the luxury/wants mentioned later in his post.

Prices won't come down until people stop spending; on the basic necessities all you can do is curtail it to the minimum.

Maybe the United States itself was the ultimate bait and switch. Make it the best country in the world, everyone who has the means can move here, all other countries turn to shite, then turn the U.S. to shite. Now there’s nowhere else to go.

If we’re talking the possibility of a 1984 situation. I’d say we’ll be awfully close in 2100. Starting the clock at 2020.
