I've had 4 surgeries (many, many years ago) on this area, and while my shoulder is stable, it hurts.
Had three shoulder surgeries and my next step is both being replaced....not looking forward to it.
My last MRI was a couple of years ago and the doctor asked me how I was able to function considering how bad of shape they are in.

mid 60s, no real pain.
Stiff neck and shoulder sometimes when I wake up, but I take an aspirin and it's gone.

I'm 39 and was just thinking back that it's probably been 5 years or more since at least one thing didn't hurt on my body.
You get used to it.

30 years? Blow out a disc and the effects last till you die. Even after surgery.

Probably 30 years ago. I have arthritis in my knees and back. I also fell a couple of years ago full weight and my knees took a direct hit.
If I’m ever not in pain on my first steps of the day, I’ll assume I’m dead.

We retired to Gulf Shores 5yrs ago, FWIW it made a difference...

I'm the same age. Ive been above 250lbs for the last 25 years. 99% of the time, zero pain.
You have to make sure your core and lower body stays very strong. If you do, you're golden. If you don't, prepare to wake up every day in pain.
About once every six months or so I'll roll the crap out of my ankle doing something stupid, but that's about it. The most recent one was stepping off the top edge of a truck bed to the ground...in flip flops. I simultaneously though my nuts were going to go through the earth to china and my spine was going to come out of my mouth.

Mine are not pretty, doc said the same. But then he reached out and asked me to pull his hand to me as firmly as I could.
He busted out laughing and said he asked me to do it because with the damage I shouldn't even be able to lift my arm. shite happens doc. You make do with what ya got.

44 and no pain. Former gymnast who hated stretching but try and do so in the mornings and when I can't sleep, in my old age. That can leave me sore, but I don't consider that pain. I feel for those with back issues, pain down the legs. I was lucky to only rupture an Achilles. But people have vastly varying degrees of "pain" and a lot need to suck it up. Soreness resides, pain is being on fire. I guess that goes away too.

I'm 75, my check engine light came on years ago, I have to go to Dr, Dujour, the deal is I had an accident 3 years ago which left me partially crippled, but most people who have the same kind of accident don't survive.
Do I have chronic pain, hell yes, and I enjoy every day of it, suck it up buttercup.

I'm not talking debilitating pain, but just some sort of soreness.
If it's less than two things I know it's going to be a good day.
I am 66 now and I was pretty good up to about 62. Started getting some arthritic issues. Like you say, not debilitating but sore a lot. I heard a saying that for these conditions "motion is lotion" and it seems to be true. I hurt more when I am less mobile.
But to your point, pain is daily.

September 5, 2024 was the last day I was not in pain
The only reason I know the date is bc the next day is the day I was rear ended. Bulging disc in my neck and a few things misplaced in my back. I don’t hurt everyday but I do sometimes have to be careful how I move.
The Sunday before the accident, one of my sons and I did a 22 mile bike ride - so it’s not like I was in terrible shape.
AND I didn’t even get to be on an injury attorney commercial
