When I had horrible back pain due to kidney stones a few months ago. It gives temporary relief, but once out of the tub and the body cools down, the pain returns.

Been a very long time.

But my theory on tubs is this: When you get in, the two nastiest places on your body hits the water first; your feet and your arse.

Then all that nastiness floats up to the top and when you get out you have a micro coating of gradeau and soap evenly coating your body.

Showers are the best.

I shower afterwards. And never take a bath if I'm really dirty after yard work or exercise. It's usually an after dinner on a work night thing and I just sit in an office all day in a suit. Not very dirty

I also don't usually put my head under, so my arse and feet dirt as you alluded to doesn't hit the noggin.

I get in hot tubs every chance I get.

It’s the same as a tub minus the soap. But I do put epson salts and fragrances in it. Sets the mood.

You got something against hot tubs?

hot tubs are gross…Petri dish of chemicals and organic waste. A tub full of clean hot water with epsom salt is where it’s at

Shower then take a long epson salt bath. I do it numerous times in a week in the jacuzzi tub.

Reading a book while soaking like an old man is the cherry on top.

I try to take one weekly.

Draw the bath and get the water as hot as I can stand it, pour some black Elderberry bubble bath into the water, and soak and sweat. Opens up the pores, the Elderberry in the bubbles help to clean out any toxins, along with the sweating. It especially helps if I'm feeling a little funky. Works every time.

I’ve got a Japanese Deep Soak tub. It’s non-practical AF and an engineering disaster based on where it’s placed, but I use the hell out of it.

Eventually it will collapse into the first story and then collapse into the basement.

I work in construction and when I used to be out in the field, I would almost always take baths after work just because I'd be on my feet 10+ hours a day and didn't feel like standing anymore. I only take showers now, but people have their reasons for it. Do what you like.
