Several new Buildings went up in Downtown BR a couple of years ago. An apartment building on Convention is just finishing up. A new hotel opened a month or so ago, and the IBM complex opened a year ago. The new library would have just opened, but "broke".

And then there were a host of conversions Downtown the biggest being the old LNB building on Third St

didn't.....I left that shitty market in BR for a job here.

When I was young and stupid I left a traveling gig for a job in BR. Once I gained some wisdom I realized how shitty the job market is in BR. Now I reside in DFW.

Soooooo, you did leave BR just to get a job.....

I’ve seen better cranes in the LSU lakes would’ve been a better response.

Live in nola now. Still a shitty city but we got a couple of cranes up around the city.

All building new residential units for the most part. Curious as to what jobs all these new downtown residents are coming to fill.

I’m sure the plants up and down the miss river have had several cranes. There is just not that much demand for vertical office space or residence in BR.

If the area between BR and downtown can be successfully gentrified, the downtown cranes will come soon after.

Yeah, BR sucks, no doubt. OTOH you've got the river on the west, I10 on the east, LSU on the south, and plants on the north. Kind of limits the area for expansion

Huh?

That's like saying Houston couldn't expand because 610 encapsulated it.

BR doesn't need to expand. It needs to divide and conquer

There’s been several and there currently are a few. The skyline has changed/filled in to some degree. If the Belle would actually move to the land and do something nice, it would make the area look nicer.

I cannot stand that ugly arse city hall building. If I was rich and could make those changes, you’d gave a different perspective of downtown BR.
