I'd say for baseball once they make it to AA or maybe even Advanced A affiliate ball. For football when they make the practice squad of an NFL roster or starter for power5. I don't know much about basketball maybe similar to football.

I guess I disagree with the general “no one cares“ take here
If a kid who is a family friend or relative is doing l well in a varsity sport at a big school/high level, I think that’s pretty cool
I wasn’t a very good athlete so maybe my standards are low, but, for example, scoring 14 ppg in basketball or 100 yards per game rushing at a 5a school in Louisiana is impressive to me and is worth sharing

It's cool on Facebook. That's what it's for.

That’s because it doesn’t make sense, people can customize what they see and don’t and absent that they get fed more of what they engage with or view by the algorithm. People who keep getting stuff they “don’t care about” are getting it because they viewed similar content..so they showed they “care”.

No one cares about your kid’s athletic achievements. No one.

At the end of the day, no one really cares about you or your kids accomplishments. People just won't say it. It's not the thing to say.

The good ole' US of A. They can post whatever drivel they want on social media, and you are free to judge them into oblivion and even comment on it.

I just admire how many wonderful people say "congrats" on every single fricking post.

While true, the flip side to that is people scroll through FB to see what other people are doing. It's basically why social media was created. So if you're not posting shite about yourself then why even be on it?
I'm not FB for that reason, I don't care to see what other people are doing and I don't care to share what I'm doing with other people.
But if you're on it, you have no sense bitching about people's vanity.
I use Facebook mostly for the groups for things I am interested in.

No one cares your annoying kid hit a double

The sad truth is that most people don’t care about your accomplishments that you post on facebook.
I’m more likely to comment “good job” or “congrats!” for my friend’s benefit and less about the kid. To be honest, I don’t know what it’s like raising a kid (nor do I want to), but I can imagine if I raised a kid from birth, and I taught him what little I know about baseball, and he one day wins a little league championship, I’m gonna be over the moon stoked and definitely sharing it. I don’t think it’s a bragging thing for most people. They’re just stoked. Most of them know that no one actually *cares*, but they’re more like “oh how cool, they must be celebrating.” Kind of thing.
Now if they’re posting their wins and losses every single day that’s a different thing.

I don't know. Facebook is weird to me. The dedication to husbands and wives on anniversaries or birthdays is just people crying for attention and cringe as frick.
"To my wonderful wife on our anniversary..'
Shut up and just tell her in person. Why the need to broadcast it all over Facebook other than narcissism.
The same with bragging about your kid. Just tell the kid how proud you are. Very few people on Facebook GAF your kid made all-district and those people that do care are probably the grandparents who are a phone call away.
na,
you post it so the aunts and uncles can see it
hell i look forward to seeing how other kids are doing, what kind of grades they made etc. i love seeing post from people bragging on their kids achievements or hell their own achievements
i dont post much but my wife does. I dont care to post as I prefer to live in the moment etc but i sure as hell like seeing the memories from previous years when they pop up
and if you dont like reading that shite, get off facebook or unfollow
as far as why put it all over facebook, so others can keep up with what you have going on in your life. the whole fricking point of facebook
I stand by my original statement though. I know you are successful but 99% of the time that is not the case and the "haters" come from those that are jealous.

Wrong...people have been annoyed by others vanity since the beginning of time. Why do you think vanity is one of the seven deadly sins? It's annoying to everyone around you and social media just allows you to annoy more people faster.
the whole point of facebook is to post what you have going on in your life, your opinions etc.
thats what frickign social media is
to be social
if you dont want to see that then get off facebook, same with instagram, dont want to see pictures posted, get off it.

So is this social media? Does anonymity make it not social media?
Still, is it acceptable to post brag videos on here?

Baby Gronk level or above is acceptable

It's moronic. People post Happy Birthday to their kids, and the kids aren't on FB. W T F ?
