This sounds more like NOLA issue, whether that be government, citizens, or both, than "going woke", considering they still plan on producing the brand

Lot of words to say "NOLA isn't a good place to manufacture so we are moving operations and leaving a skeleton crew behind to save face. We will move them out once the media and public aren't paying attention."

This is how I read it

That's not completely clear from the article.

It sounds like they’re selling the beer and need a bigger facility. Not sure this is the dig you think it is.

Yeah, I can’t really tell what they’re saying here. Is anyone drinking Faubourg? I know Oyster City is knocking it out the park. Don’t know about the other brands.

while it remains a major priority of Mrs. Benson to continue to build on economic development especially in New Orleans East while trying to build a manufacturing facility from the ground up. That said, she really doesn't give a frick about the East or Faubourg for that matter since she sold that shite and got paid. So frick Y'all. Who Dat?!

While our first preference was to expand the brewery operations at our current facility, unfortunately, despite our best efforts and those of local stakeholders, that is not feasible. As a result, we are shifting most of our brewing operations to other MBTW facilities and contract brewing partners while we explore options for a new manufacturing home in the area.

This doesn’t make sense. When breweries, particularly smaller ones, are successful they don’t scale back operations; they have contract breweries cover the production gap between their capacity and demand and they look to add more production.

One of two things is true:
1. There isn’t enough demand that makes keeping the facility open worthwhile. For example, they’re only producing at 25% capacity but still have 100% of the overhead.
2. They can get the product cheaper with a contract brewer. If this is true there is a 99% chance that #1 is also true.

This. She wanted to get out of Faubou. They essentially got bought by Made By The Water but framed it publically as if Faubourg was absorbing Made By The Water. Made By The Water is consolidating.

I'd at least drink it every once in a while when it was Dixie for the nostalgia factor. Haven't touched it since the name change.

It’s the same beer

Tom bought out Dixie Beer in his waning days for no other reason really than to 'save the brand.' There was no reason for it to exist OTHER THAN as a pure piece of nostalgia for that. He dies, and Miss Gayle gets wrapped up in this goofy movement and changes it to something that nobody will ever recognize or care about (you don't even have to get into the 'woke' aspect of it to explain it, because I'm not even sure that comes into play for people no longer buying it because it was NOTHING BUT A NOSTALGIA TYPE PRODUCT PERIOD and now it doesn't even have that, it's just shite beer and nothing more) and here it will all fizzle out with barely a whimper.

This is the one and only reason that place stayed opened. Mrs. Benson was clueless on that.

NEW ORLEANS — Local brewery Faubourg Brewing will be scaling back operations at its Jourdan Road facility located in New Orleans East due to the inability to meet current production demands,

That doesn’t make sense, you can’t meet demands, so you scale back?

it sounds like they are getting TOO BIG for the facility and need to find one that can grow faster

You actually believes this? It's pretty obvious that they can make more money brewing the beer using extra brewing capacity at their other facilities. This is especially if the beer is a slow seller -- why would you keep a dedicated brewery for such low volume?

Being called Dixie doesn't change that it's located in the middle of a warzone, though. Might have lasted longer but I doubt that much longer.

Bottom line....it's a shite beer and ever since they changed the name it lost all its nostalgia and ID.

No gives a flying frick about a beer named Faubourg

Is there context about this? The article says nothing political. Sounds like they are just outsourcing to cut some costs and up production. Also, I've never heard of that brewery, but I don't live near NOLA.
