When do the gofundme pages start popping up with layoffs and needing help making payments on those 84 month truck loans and 144 month boat loans????
When do we get hit up for signing petitions and complaining about low gas prices because oil field baws didn’t save a dime?
When do we volunteer to go back to $4.00/gallon so oil field cash can keep rolling in?

I don't know about all that stuff you're talking about but a healthy price of gas per gal is good for our economy. Not high, not low. Our state has oil being pumped out all over, especially our coast, and if we are going to cover our state with wells, we should at least be able to have decent gas prices here. Not $1, not $4.

The joy in some of these posts is pretty sick.

Post like this remind me how out of touch a large portion of the populace is with what drives our economy, especially in Louisiana. Did filling up with gas suck when Oil was $100/BL? Yep. Was the economic boom that hit many areas of the state during this time beneficial to everyone? Yep. Louisiana needs healthy oil prices, as much as we love to hate on some of the workers in the fields with their F250's, truck nuts, affliction shirts, new iberia haircuts, and hairdresser wives who make sure their bed is warmed by Jody when baw is away. Jody laying pipe and Baw doping pipe means engineering jobs, skilled labor jobs, IT jobs, hospitality jobs, and local businesses are making money too.
But by gawd let's make another OT post making fun of them because they bought toys my wife won't let me buy, and it costs me $5 less to fill up my Civic.

I think if it was just one the response would be more subdued, but these topics are in the teens since the Saudis disrupted the market on Sunday. Throw in that a lot of people not in the oil industry have lost most of their 2019 gains thanks to this dropping amid the coronavirus dive, and there's going to be some brusque responses towards those giddy at others financial losses.

Its unbelievable. They think that everyone that works in the oil field has a New Iberia haircut and wears affliction shirts to their kids travel ball games. Im college educated, work at an engineering firm and could lose my job over the price of oil. Imagine people being excited about me not knowing how I'm going to feed my two toddlers when layoffs happen.
