Brother, that IS marriage.
I'm sure I'm in the minority, but marriage is really the bureaucratization of sex. You do it for the kids.

Divorce
10 Jesus then left that place and went into the region of Judea and across the Jordan. Again crowds of people came to him, and as was his custom, he taught them.
2 Some Pharisees came and tested him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”
3 “What did Moses command you?” he replied.
4 They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away.”
5 “It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law,” Jesus replied. 6 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’[a] 7 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,[b] 8 and the two will become one flesh.’[c] So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
10 When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this. 11 He answered, “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. 12 And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.”
I always get a chuckle when people downvote God. Perhaps they know of some other higher authority on divorce?

Corinthians I 7:39 A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord.

Obviously this is different for each couple. If one person is truly unhappy in the relationship then what is the point. I do feel like some couples give up too easy though and would rather quit than work on things.

Funny. But this is about my dad
He's so concerned with keeping his covenant that he has put up with her fricking up for ten years. It's drugs, lying, hiding, laying in bed the whole time he's home, not working, no kids, doesn't clean house, etc. she's such a pos. They've been married like 25 years. He has always treated her like a queen. We (his kids) just think he deserves so much better. I almost hate her for how shitty she treats him
He bought her a new Lincoln MKZ for her birthday. Like two weeks later, she went to her mom's, stole some of her pills and passed out. Someone came and knocked on the door to tell her that her car had rolled into a tree. It was the only thing stopping it from ending up in the pond. Because she didn't put it in park

How old is she? If she's drinking and drugging that much she probably doesn't have that much longer anyways. I don't want to sound mean, but it sounds like one of those things that will work itself out.

A lot of people think marriage has its basis in religion, but evidence suggests marriages and its forms were most likely influenced by the availability of food.
I just felt like throwing that out there.

I was quoting Corinthians, I guess you're quoting some guy? It's pretty clear that death is the only way out of marriage according to the Bible. But some scholars believe that murder is also a sin, so it's kind of a catch 22. But as an informed Christian you should be able to decipher which of the two sins is lesser in the eyes of the holy ghost and proceed from there.

Evidence has a very broad meaning in today's world. The interpretations of evidence are vast and numerous, so I'm guessing this is ONE interpretation.
