Do you fill it up with a 1/4 tank left?

Top it off when it's half full?

I like to wait until I only have 30-60 miles left in the tank and the light is about to come on or has just come on.

I guess I only do this because all the vehicles I've owned the fuel gauge is accurate, if I had gotten stranded or stuck by being out of gas even once I probably wouldn't let it get so low.

Yes, I know the fuel from the bottom of the tank is supposedly "dirty" and "worse for the engine" but that seems like a load of B.S.

Before it runs out, but not when it's already full.

If you don't coast into the gas station on fumes then you're just a pussy.

I try to never let mine get below 1/4 of a tank. My wife (no pics) on the other hand sees the miles to empty as some sort of challenge to beat.

Unless I take a long trip or do more driving than normal, I fill up every Monday morning on the way to work..

It depends. If I know I have a good discount per gallon waiting on me at the Kroger gas station, I'm coasting in there on fumes. Otherwise, I fill up whenever it is convenient

i'll go to a gas station less than 5 miles to empty and can still only put 23.5 gallons in a 26 gallon tank. i don't understand, i want to run it bone dry just to see how long it lasts but that ain't good for diesels.
