$58k as the floor isn't right. Find another dealer.

I'm not saying that 58k was the floor on that particular truck. It was a Sunday night, the dealership was closed. 58 was the sticker price. That's why I asked what some of you guys may have ended up paying for a 2017 model.

The tax deduction when I bought it was worth 10 times the interest I'll pay in 4 years at 1.49%

You don't understand the big picture

You are not getting something used with low miles for half the price. You will be paying close to full price.

If leather is your thing, buy a stripped down model with no leather and get aftermarket leather- it is really not expensive

super cab f150 new can be had for under 30K

Someone finally mentioned it, most trucks are sold to businesses that can claim depreciation.

A $50k truck doesn't cost the same for a business as it does an individual in the long run.
It's "cheaper" for a business to buy a truck, meaning the are willing to pay a bit more...the IRS code partially inflating a market.

I've got a 2013 Silverado that I bought in 2015 for $28k,

in 2013, base model pricing ranged from $23,590-43,395 to 29,080-50,315 in 2017.

Normally I would tell you its just more options/amenities from older trucks, but it looks like Chevy has increased their pricing on msrp by $6-7k. They might be playing the Ford game in regards to MSRP and no one pays close to it

Orr in Shreveport has a 2015 F350 King Ranch with 60,000 miles for $55,000. What does one of those sell for new?

I think that's extremely optimistic.

So if the new F150 Lariat has a sticker price of 58k, what should someone expect to pay after negotiations and rebates?

Why take the hit when you can get something certified with low miles at half the price?

Where are you finding good used trucks at half the price of new? When I was shopping earlier this year, certified pre-owned trucks were 80% new sticker price.

And 60,000 miles isn't exactly low mileage

That's pretty low on these engines.

I guess the advertisement algorithms here agree that truck prices are too high.

I've been reading this thread and now I'm getting banners trying to get me to buy an Escalade.

I haven't needed a truck in my personal life in years. When I do need to use a truck for something, I rent one. I drive a very nice fuel saving car as my everyday driver. I could rent a truck 15 times a year and still save money while driving my car.
