Thst is until 2008 happens again which is only a matter of time.
You say that, but prices didn't drop at that time. They went up.....probably faster. I remember thinking about buying a base level Tahoe around 2008. Base price was around 27k. By 2010, that number was around 36k. Now, base price is like 47k!
Cars have become socially acceptable to finance. And I'm not against financing them, I always have. I'm more saying that having a very large portion of your income going to a car note is "acceptable" now. Some, if not many people's note's compete with their house note. That's how the price get's so high.

Sticker is meaningless now. Rough numbers on my last truck went something like this(don't remember exact) $45 Sticker/$39 advertised as a sale/$33 final price.
Go to Houston, or at least say you're shopping Houston.

Sounds like your local dealers are only keeping the most expensive trims on the lot and with a lot of options added. Base F-150 price is around $30-35k at sticker.
Buddy of mine bought a brand new Tundra as a work truck a few months ago and got it for somewhere around $27-28k....base model with no options.

Just bought a demo 2017 Silverado with 3,000 miles on it for $30k. No leather seats, but all the other bells and whistles.

The least expensive, with leather seats and sunroof, was a Lariat.
There is literally no way the cheapest Lariat on the lot was $58k. You're full of shite.

More $$$ = higher price
think college tuition.
I paid the "idiot tax" on my first truck. Bought it brand new because I was pre-approved for 30k as a college freshman. Ended up paying almost 20k in interest. Learned my lesson early on in life and have only bought gently-used vehicles since. I won't even finance now. If I don't have the cash to buy it, I don't buy it. I could pay 60k for a truck, but I refuse to.

Stupid to do with fullsize trucks in today's market.

It literally was the cheapest option for leather and a sunroof.

I bought a slightly used 2wd lariat 4 years ago. That same trim level used truck now would be approximately $10,000 more over a 4 year time span. I understand they are aluminum now, but $10,000 more? WTF

How is that even possible?
30k for 6 years at 15% is still barely over 15k in interest?

$10,000 more for zero new functionality. $10,000 more for expensive leightweight material so that Ford can meet new EPA guidelines.

As long as there are people making $30k a year willing to make $800 a month truck notes, they're not getting any cheaper.
This is the problem. As long as the next guy is willing to pay it, prices will continue to skyrocket.
Also, they allow people to finance a truck/car for 84 months. Subprime autoloans.

You're the one that felt the need to blatantly lie in your OP. YOu could have just as easily made your point without putting in the ridiculous lie.
