So apparently I missed the revolution and now you're supposed to clean with paper towels and throw them away (using like 1/2 a roll for every room) and not use wash cloths to clean?

When did this occur?

Was I living under a rock when people used wash cloths or am I living under a rock now and people didn't replace them with paper towels?

This is like some Mandela Effect shite

You're a bit of a shithead on the M/TV board, but on this I agree with you.

Buy some bar towels for your kitchen and quit wasting paper!

You like doing laundry? I don't.

Mind your own business.

Wash cloths are probably seen as spreading bacteria whereas paper towels are disposable.

What? I use paper towels for small clean ups. Otherwise I use wash cloths.

i mean there is a time and a place for paper towels

small spills

drying off contagious items (like bacteria-carrying food)

wiping contagious areas

but for just normal cleaning? it's a huge waste

Wash cloths in a kitchen are gross
It grosses me out when people wipe their hands while cooking then wipe up a spill on the counter then dry a dish all with the same rag

Trees are a very renewable resource and properly harvested/replanted by all the US companies who make papertowels. They are more sanitary than a dishtowel after one use. Do it.

that's cross contamination for sure

but using it to wipe your hands or a spot isn't a big deal

dishes should be dried with a clean, dry towel though

Gross.

I’m using some of the nice, heavy duty paper towels for the kitchen to avoid cross-contamination. I still dry my hands off with a kitchen towel.

I’ll also use some of the same heavy duty paper towels when cleaning the bathroom. Elsewhere a wash rag should be good though.

I tried them but they disintegrate and clog the shower drain.

We probably have 100 cloth/towels/etc. in our house

Apparently 98 of them are decorative

So we use paper towels

Not gross. I drop 4-5 of them in with the whites every week.

Nasty stuff, sure use paper towels. Everything else, bar towels and put them in the wash every 1-2 days.

if you're not actively handling raw meat, what kind of cross contamination are you worried about?

y'all make it sound like you're running a biological lab in your kitchen
