I priced it around the same to do it myself. Cost me 50 at valentine after the coupons I get all the time.

I'll spend 20 extra for the hassle.

I used to until i moved to nola.

Doing an oil change on a two way street that should be a one way with sitting water isnt fun.

I do it myself too, and euro oil for my car would cost me ~$60. My wife's GMC takes 8 quarts. Full synthetic and new oil + air filter will run me ~$80.

So for $27 additional dollars you could have someone else do it in 20 minutes.

I love these threads when half the OT claims you’re a pussy because you don’t change your oil yourself. If I’ve got the time and money to have someone do it for me, why would I do it myself?

Changing oil is no big deal and sometimes relaxing.

Getting rid of the used oil if one can't just dump it in the ditch is a pain in the arse.

I usually get it done at the shop.

How about when doing it yourself voids your warranty, if you have one?

You got taken. I would get my F150 with 8 quarts of oil done at Ford quick lane for $40.

Example of common daily driver that requires dealer to change oil?

For my F250 it cost me $320 the other day for a new filter, oil change, and fuel filter.

I said nothing about going to dealers. But some warranties require documentation from some sort of commercial entity that oil changes have been done in a timely manner.

Interesting... None of my Mercedes or BMWs required this, but VW does?
