Are you the little bitch that keeps requesting to connect on LinkedIn and sending an email to my Inbox to "Chat about how you can help me?". If so, pour gasoline on your crotch and light it.

That, right there, is why your emails get deleted.

You get paid on sales. Your customers have to be billable. I've yet to work for any organization where "listening to sales bull crap" is billable.

I work in project management. Usually clients are very shortsited and ignorant in regards to the process. This leads to a lot of ignored emails and they only start responding when the deadline looms over their head, wanting this or that done ASAP, but I've been trying to contact them weeks in advance because I know that from a scheduling and manpower standpoint, these tasks take time to complete.

Exactly, it's all situational. You are not emailing people with a sells pitch for some bullshite they don't need or already uses another vender to buy from. Ive never once heard someone say "look, I know we have been buying from this company for years and have a really good relationship with, but I received an email from this guy the other day & I think he can change the game for us"

I guess its also relative to the product & industry as well, but one of my places of employment had to pretty much ban employees from receiving stuff from vendors because there were some people who would accept every lunch offer from any vendor, to the point there were times they were going 2 or 3 times a week. If their was a vendor known for giving tickets to certain sporting events, people would entertain them just long enough to get offered tickets, then a week later give em the ol "right now there is nothing I can do, but if something comes up I will give you a call".

Exactly, when I first started working people would send emails with read receipts and I would just click "no" on them. Then, I found out that you can just set your settings to never send them. I'm not sending you a fricking read receipt, if your email is important enough, I will respond to it. It not, then you don't need to know when I looked at it.

You might not like the way they do their end of business, but when its all said and done, they are the ones who decide to buy from you. And that's probably how some of them look at it "they dont like the way we do _____, but I don't give a shite. I bet if we tell them we are going to buy from someone else they wouldn't care how we do it".

No response is the most basic fricking form of go frick yourself there is. Not sure why you feel they are obligated to put that in email form back to you.

Holy shite, don't start sending read receipts.

I'm in sales and would never do that but it is a one way street. One customer I have will never respond to an email I send but then will read receipt me at 6:00 on a Friday with a question.

Maybe you just suck as a salesman and your customers don't like you?

frick an email, pick up the phone

This works for me. If a customer needs to know something they are usually getting a phone call from me. It builds better relationships long term to handle things that need to be handled voice to voice or face to face. There is less confusion and you know the issue has been resolved with the other person on the phone.

My boss has gotten into forwarding every email that comes out from our management. Most times the stuff that has nothing to do with me and I don't have a response but I do read it.

Then he gets bent out of shape asking me if I read the emails because he never got a response.

I don't respond to emails that are just sharing info unless I have something to add to the conversation. Is that wrong on my part? Anybody else have this happen.

Should I just respond to my boss on every email that "I read it".

Being non-responsive is not a way to do their end of business. It is the definition of not doing business

I am in technical sales and work a lot with customers and engineers on projects, I can't tell you how many times a customer will just straight up ignore or delete a work related email and act like they never got it. A simple, "thanks we got the problem solved" etc. "I'm not interested" I wouldn't even a mind a response of "go kill yourself"

You have to mark them 'urgent'. No one ignores those.

I haven't. I've had some of mine ignored, though.

Some people want to avoid taking responsibility and initiative. Others are pissed off at me for doing my job and allow that to affect their professionalism.
