I hate that you cropped that poor pup's ears.

My wife breeds Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Puppies start at 4K and she'll take your application, vet you for qualification, and put you on a waiting list.
Not her fault buyers are willing to pay this.
Man, I would be a straight up dog pimp, drive those bitches hard.

The smaller they are, the more of them a single middle-aged woman can have in her apartment.

dashhound pup?
My 21 year old daughter wants one bad. She told us how expensive they were and said she will wait to get one when she’s out of college.
I went online and searched and found some for $400 to $500 and showed her. She said those probably weren’t from prized breeders or were the wrong color/
Whatever. She can wait to get one.

Cropped ears are part of the traditional Doberman standard, and there are actual benefits — like fewer ear infections and less risk of injury, especially for an active dog.
I am very knowledgeable about this subject and made sure it was done safely and responsibly. I selected a veterinarian who is considered to be the very best at this and follows the AKC standards.
My pup is healthy, happy, and loved — that’s what matters most to me. She actually falls asleep in my hands when I post her ears because she enjoys the ear massages and gentle stretching. There are zero ill effects — just a well-cared-for, thriving dog.

$3000 dog owner checking in.
However she has minor hip dysplasia that so far hasn’t been an issue, so we got a full refund on her.
We will have this breed the rest of our lives so long as we can afford it. And from the same breeder so long as they stay in business. They’re wonderful.

Depends how you define “mini”. I adopted a mini golden doodle from a friend of a friend, which I got for free, but retails for about $3k. Amazing 25lbs dog, likely the best dog I’ve ever owned. I’m not saying $3k wouldn’t sting, but I would probably do it in the future.
But if you’re talking about little 5lbs rats, that’s a separate issue

When people started referring to animals as “children” and thinking they should be treated as such.
You see it here all the time.

I have a pair of goldendoodles, one an 80 pound standard that I took on for nothing as an adult. and one I bought from a responsible breeder. The one I got from the breeder is a "mini" 25 lbs fully grown - great size. Didn't pay 3K, but she was not an insignificant sum. Both are great dogs and exceptional companions for my wife and I now that the kids are out of the house. Money (that we have) well spent.
The best dog is the one you have and love and that "loves" you. Hard to put a price on it.

Basically any breed of mini or toy breed.
If you live near a city and don't want a pitt, prepare to bend over. White women have taken over dog adoptions and somehow made it worse.

I lost my last Dobie in December 2024, and she meant the world to me. This new girl won’t replace her — that’s not what she’s about. She’s already really bonded with my daughters and me, and she loves our female Pit Bull. It feels like a fresh start, with lots of love in her own way.
