Anywhere you see that situation in Baton Rouge (and likely any other city), it's because the streets weren't originally connected. Once they were joined, the original addresses were simply kept in place. Changing the street name for every address is annoying; having to also renumber practically everything on that entire road is a clusterfrick.

They should either rename the whole thing college or brightside. I can’t stand how often streetnames change in BR after crossing an intersection.

It’s funny how renaming Lee high is such a big deal. Their was no issue Renaming bishop Sullivan high school when it turned out he was pedophile. Now, a few years later, everyone call it st. Michaels and it not big deal. Did you guys put up such a big fight when the name of Bishop Sullivan was changed. I guess some how in your minds you decided slavery is not as big as an issue as pedophilia. Sounds like you can empathize being molested but have issue empathizing being a slave . Despite never have been a slave, I would just ask you to consider the confusion is must feel to attend a high school named after someone that fought for your people’s continued enslavedment. Yes I know Lee was complicated figure that has some qualities that some today might hold in esteem but his role as civil war general is too glaring to overlook in today’s society. To answer your question, yes. Damn straight the road should be renamed as well

Or maybe learn the lesson that you aren’t going to agree with everyone & everything but that’s called life & part of growing up & being an adult
That it IS ok to not always agree but as long as you respect others as human beings we can get along & make our communities better for future generations

I really didn’t see the Lee High renaming made into that big of a deal.
And St. Michael is a private school. The Catholics can do as they please. It’s their call.

Oh, and two streets that have only VERY slightly different names, but are a block apart. Bluebonnet Blvd. and Bluebonnet Rd.
How many things do you think get misdelivered in that area on a daily basis.
