This has nothing to do with air travel and everything to do with changing times. Look at any pics in any setting from the same era and attire was more formal.

There were pics from a Mardi Gras parade in the 50's posted here a while back where men were in coat/tie and hats.

Honestly, depends how I feel that day.

If I feel like macking on women at the airport when I wake up, I'll clean up rather well.

If I don't want to attract a lot of attention to myself and just want to get from point A to point B without dealing with a lot of people that day, I dress down some.

Just noticed that, as my OT bretheren got me thinking

If you are trying to say that there was a time Americans acted with class and dignity, I agree.

Lost times for sure.

You can dress down and comfortably without looking like a complete slob.

Can we also go back to smoking on planes? Suits and Smoking-Don Draper style.

To hell with that, how about we just get back to those huge arse chairs. How big are the seats on those old pictures? I feel like I'm in a goddamn sardine can when I fly. I can't even get my phone out my pocket without elbowing the person next to me in the face. Also, I've never sat next to hot chick on a flight ever, so that means 100% of the time the stranger in the seats next to me is someone I don't want touching me or breathing on me.

There's a shite ton about flying commercial that sucks. People dressing down is at the bottom of my goddamn list.

Yeah, I'm not sure why people don't understand this.

I don't really care what people wear when they fly. I just want the pilot to be sober . But then I don't fly. Ever.

Yeah, which I personally do.

All I'm saying is that someone wearing PJ bottoms and a hoodie is like number 3000 on my list of things to be worried about. It's perplexing why this would even bother anyone. Even if you did sit right next to a sweatpant-clad individual, so what? Who cares?

As someone who flies a lot for work and personal I would be okay if TSA didn't allow people through security because they have their PJs on.
Whenever I fly for business, it is usually 14+ hours so comfort is very important.

You obviously don't fly overseas much because in Business and First class one of the first things they do is.....wait for it.....give you a complimentary pair of comfortable pajamas.

To be fair, you don't walk through the airport in these clothes . You are expected and even handed back your clothing before the descent has begun.

This has nothing to do with being a millennial and everything to do with how uncomfortable flying has become. Look at those photos again. The experience of flying was comfortable in itself, not to mention more expensive.

Now, everyone is crammed into a 20-30 year old plane like sardines in the least comfortable way possible.

If the airlines don't give a shite, people won't.

I doubt people wear things like sweats or PJs when they fly Emirates.

All true. However, I don't wear a suit to the airport unless I had a meeting right before going to the airport which is rare. I also wouldn't give much of a shite if anyone boarded the airplane wearing pajama bottoms.
