Day 1: Legs/Shoulders
Day 2: Back/Chest/Arms
Day 3: Legs/Shoulders
Day 4: Back/Chest/Arms
Day 5: Rest

Cardio: as needed.

Lulz at all these fools working each muscle group only 1 day/week.

oh and BTW if you have an "arms only" day you pretty much have no idea how to train

Monday - Chest. Rest (3 hours). Pick up basketball (2-3 hours).
Tuesday - Legs. Rest (3 hours). Pick up basketball (2-3 hours).
Wednesday - Biceps and Triceps.
Thursday - Shoulders.
Friday - Back.
Saturday and Sunday - Usually rest days or I'll play pick up basketball or just shoot around for about an hour.

As a warmup, I'll shoot around for about 15-30 minutes, and then workout and cool down with 10 minutes of shoot around again. Basketball >>>>>>>> Elliptical.
Lifting takes about an hour each workout.

This is my exact same workout routine right now, except I can't play basketball for 2+ hours multiple days in a row...my knees would be dead. And I will sometimes rest on Thursday, then do shoulders Friday & back on Saturday. It's really the perfect routine.

I'm sorry but there's no way you sprint for 30 secs and then have a 30 sec break. That'd be like sprinting a 200yd race 20 times with 30 secs in between. College fb players only sprint 16 110s when they report.

I sprint 10-12 50 yd sprints with 1 min rest and still almost die

I get the feeling "sprint" is loosely applied.

My legs are always dead after basketball. They do feel much better the day after though, especially if I'm playing that following day.

How old are you?

I'm 31 and my joints couldn't handle that shite anymore. After knee surgery and a severe ankle sprain my second time back to the court, wasn't worth the risk of injury.

You don't know me!!!

lol, i said some of it is due to muscle mass. Some of it is due to eating a bunch of boiled seafood over the weekend.

25.

I've had a few bad ankle sprains over the last 6 years, but nothing serious. Joints are fine, but my legs stiffen the frick up and I cramp a lot after balling for 2+ hours. My game is mostly shooting 3s, some drives to the basket so I think that limits my risk of injury, but I do try much harder on defense because that's when I try to focus my energy on keeping my heart rate up.

I do. Treadmill is set at 8.4MPH... That's a sprint to me

Youre idea of sprinting is keeping a 7min/mile pace.

A 15 sec/100yd sprint pace is 4.45min/mile pace.

Run faster, shorter distance, not as many times. What you're doing is more long distance pace

It's all about heart rate as well. My heart rate gets up to %75-%85 when I do this

Do it while you can. Career ending injuries are inevitable

Yeah, I got excited when I saw that we had a church league starting up in a couple weeks. Then I thought about they guy I used to work with who somehow managed to break his knee and tear the ligaments in it during a pickup game and I decided my basketball days are behind me.

As far as my workout:

Monday - shoulders/back/some cardio
Tuesday - legs/arms/a little cardio just to help the legs from getting so sore
Thursday - chest/abs/cardio

Will usually run or bike a little on Saturday and or Sunday.

You can't do real sprint intervals on a treadmill.
