We need a "How much did you give?" thread to add up the total OT loss.

I am glad people have a heart but I think they should analyze a situation more before reacting so quickly. I've already said this but the guy was talking about killing himself and people thought giving him money a ton of cash was going to suddenly solve that problem. It was weird to me

Well, that’s the gist of it, pretty much.

Remember when Tyrone Biggums threw the worlds largest crack party? That’s pretty much how I’m imagining what’s going to happen.

it must have grown since I opened this thread to type that. I'm going to wait for the tOT consensus before I pass judgement.

Those that donated did so to help another man. If that man was disingenuous, that doesn't reduce the good that was intended.

My opinion is there is almost never a good reason to give a mass of cash right after a death.

So much else takes priority.

I totally understand what you are saying - but if you have $0 - how do you legally bury your recently deceased beloved?

When my dad unexpectedly died we had to cough up money real quick. We went the cheapest route, which was kinda terrible - but there was a lot going on.

They already have that statue, and that other mini Lady Liberty statue, so it's not a stretch to think that aliens might want to plant their flag nearby.

You think that many people gave because he mentioned suicide?

Totally needed this thread here - nobody was stating their opinions in either of the other two.

That will never work. Everyone will just say "$350".
