Still awesome...

I really liked that Phoenix area. Would consider retiring out there....just riding around, going to stores, etc...with the Mountains right there in the background. I really want to go back. I would highly recommend a trip/vacation out there for anybody that hasn't visited. Went to Tempe to check out Arizona State, summer school was apparently out, no OT 8.8's walking around, nobody was walking around, but saw the sports stadiums and basketall arena, very cool campus.

Did a year at motel 6 on Westheimer in Houston. 4 day workweek and I was home for the weekend 3 hours away. Cheaper than an apt rental. Had done that apt rental 4 years earlier and it was not a life style.

Curious, why?
Nothing impressive here. 4-5 days each for a couple of hurricanes.

Back in the 90's, my company put me on an assignment in Fayetteville. They put me up in a Hampton Inn there for 6 months. Back then, they gave you a detailed summary of all the charges. That summary had to be 3" thick.

Probably about 3 months for work, although I went home on the weekends so it wasn't continuous.

I went back there about 4 years later and the front desk ladies immediately recognized me

I'm leaving tomorrow to spend 19 nights in Seoul. That'll be the record for me.

Over 19 months. It really wasn’t too bad. After the 3rd month they just moved me to a suite and got me a full size fridge and a hot plate and let me cook in my room. I’ve had a lot of staying in hotels for work. In 2021 after Covid I stayed in a hotel for a little over 200 days. I have a bunch of other 100 plus day stays.

What kind of work you do?

Not a hotel, but did a year in a bnb. My dog and I were the only guests the entire time even though it was pretty nice (pool table and so on).

One funny feature was that since it was a bnb set up for that year's Super Bowl, each of the four bedrooms had separate electronic locks that could be set by the resident. So any time I brought a girl home they were like, so what's with all the electronic locks like I was Hannibal Lector or something lol.

Glad you liked it. I went there for school and stayed over 30 years. I wish I was still there.

Scottsdale is sweet even in the summer. Different heat. Tolerable.
What resort is that? Camelback Inn?

I would guess The Phoenician. I’ve seen it from above while hiking Camelback and eaten there before but never stayed as a guest.

Staying at a place like that would be manageable during August, staying at a box chain hotel in Chandler not so much

Stayed at a Residence Inn 3.5 months after the February '21 winter freeze in Houston. Massive burst pipes and a complete gutting of my home. Sadly, it was during Covid and they didn't even have breakfast!

same hotel off and on for a couple years for work. On about 9 months and off 3 each year. I had a suite with a full kitchen, living room with pull out couch, bedroom with king bed, so it felt more like an apartment. I really liked it a lot to be honest. I could get the whole place cleaned any day that I want, and the place had a damn good breakfast every day.
