I think the main goal is to fry existing electronics, not necessarily knock out power. Of course, blowing up nuclear facilities would be a cheap bang for the buck. Nuclear bomb without having to pay for it.

An EMP fallout would last years. You would have to rebuild the entire infrastructure.

1. Pocket pussy
2. Whiskey still
3. Pallet of MREs
4. Polaroids of your daughter

I think it's a good illustration of what could happen. A nuke was detonated in the atmosphere in that book and all electronics were fried.

A few things...

1. Tons of .22 ammo. You can store more and this is what people will mostly be looking for. This will be like gold and can be traded for anything. Keep smaller amounts of high powered ammunition for yourself

2. Sodium hypochlorite. A 1 lb bag can disinfect 10,000 gallons of water. This will also be like gold because liquid bleach isn’t shelf stable and you won’t have enough tablets to get the job done.

3. Shelf stable antibiotics like ciprofloxacin can be good for 10 years

4. Huge box of disposable lighters

You can store enough of the above items in a small plastic tote that will allow you to trade for anything else you could possible need and they never go bad

Check my list. Shelf stable for 10+ years. Takes up minimal space.

My plan is to have excessive amounts of the most valuable items that can then be traded for other things you need

Trying to store everything you could possibly need isn’t feasible unless you plan to go completely off grid
