Funny. My favorite was a 91 Prelude. I blew the engine and put a JDM in it. Had a lot of fun with it. Had 4 wheel steering and Gen 1 VTEC.
Was a ton of fun to drive. Could handle at any speed. I had it loud as frick too.
Regret selling it.

Actually I regret selling my 1967 mustang more. I sold it months before gone in 60 seconds came out.

No sentimental value for that first car you owned? I’m on my second ES350 and they’re fantastic but I experienced more in that damn Honda that I’ll ever do in any other vehicle.

I had a 1981 white long bed Chevy with a straight 6. Thing was boring as hell and looked like a work truck.

My current GTR. Cruise around and it feels mostly stock. Turn it up on my phone and it’s a monster.

I blew my engine racing my friends 300gt on the Achfalaya bridge. I went to downshift at top speed and hit second instead when I dropped the clutch the engine exploded.
We had to cram 6 people in the 3000gt to get home. That was fun. One guy stole the mile marker 120 sign that we broke down at. Police saw him take the sign out the car with all of us but he ran off and never got caught and still has the sign in his man cave.
The next day we got some guy wet barely knew to tow my prelude off of the bridge back to BR.
He blew the engine in his truck towing me. So we went back the next day with the sign theif and his Ford Ranger. He towed me to the Mississippi River Bridge where the tow strap broke.
A weights and measurements cop then pushed me all the way to GSR1 road where I lived at the time.
I then bought a JDM engine off of Ebay and drove to Houston to pick it up. I put the engine in the trunk of a Chevy caprice and drove back with the trunk up.

Great times.

Maybe…and I give it credit because it got me thinking. Favorite was probably a 1989 Porsche Cabriolet.

But that was a dream. What car did I fall in love with? The one I owned and lived with.

I was going to respond to your thread but it’s a different question.

I've had a bunch of'em over the decades ...

'65 Caprice Classic
'65 6 cyl Mustang
'67 Bug
'69 Bug
'69 Chevel SS
'69 Vette
'72 Monte Carlo
'75 Monza 2+2
'76 260Z
'78 Monte Carlo
'84 300Z
'85 Ford Bronco (wish I still owned that one)
'86 Chevy Blazer
'86 944 Turbo
'86 Celica Supra
'88 BMW 835
'89 Mercedes GL 350
.... and a few Lexuses and Land Cruisers since (including now) along with a bunch of others inbetween but, without a doubt my favorite has been two of my nine F150 Series Fords. I kept my two favorites, a '94 XLT and a 2000 jelly bean XLT. I had a 2012 King Ranch that I sold for more than I paid for it. I usually drive my Tacoma these days.

Cars are milestones in life come to think of it ... this thread made me reminiscent.

EXACTLY.

What’s that first one from the list that you owned as a young Scrooster and spent every weekend out cleaning the hell out of it because you had a date or we’re going to cruise town on Sat night?

The one you spent extra time on because it was HS Prom and you wanted it to look nice?

Last edition of the Mercury Grand Maquis.

I’ve had a Mercedes ML, bmw e39, Cadillac xts, and a land cruiser. But that Grand Marquis was the best. Bulletproof, rode like you’re on a cloud and in the rare case something broke parts were readily available and cheap.

Regret ever selling that car.

Honda Prelude is a great choice.

I submit my Mazda 6, which in reality is a real throwback to Japanese cars of the past. Naturally aspirated 4 cylinder. Manual transmission (6 speed in a nod to modernity).

Not my actual car but you get the gist.

I've had this car for 8 years. Not one single defect. Not one single recall. Not one single bulb blown. This was actually made in Japan.

I've been through a number of cars in my Gen X life. From Ford, Mercedes, Honda, Toyota, VW, Mitsubishi, Acura.

1989 2 Door S10 Blazer. 18th birthday present, used as hell, but new to me. Would give my left nut to have her back.

1973 Dodge Charger

Not the exact car I had in high school but pretty damn close. Heavy as hell and big enough for 6 people comfortably...or for 2 people in the back seat *wink, wink*

I don’t know any time frame you’re dealing with, but did you ever imagine that Bronco would be worth a small fortune today? When I was 16 I wanted a ‘67 Mustang convertible that was about $5,000 at the time. My dad wouldn’t do it because he knew I’d kill myself.
