I think that is a lot of Louisianans. They wonder why their AC craps out when it is 100 degrees and they have it set at 65. I do 73 or 74 and use fans after that. Most people could get by with a lot higher setting and a fan blowing on them

Have 2 places.

Wife is presently at one (a hot place). I am presently at the other (a hot place).

To offset her inevitable thermostat-crushing electricity bill, I sweat. My AC is about to send a wellness visit because it is used to her, not me.

My thermostat doesn’t show hours run, it shows kilowatt hours consumed.

June was 877, July was 973. 48 on Wednesday, 52 on Thursday.

That’s with my thermostat capped at 72 degrees during the day, and dropped to 67 at night.

No idea. 1 of my systems is set at 71 all day and cycles on and off. It stays at 71 in that section. HVAC 2 is set at 70 and cycles on and off. It easily holds. The 3rd system is set at 71 and creeps up starting around 11. It gets to 75 before it cools back down. That one runs constant from around 11 to 10 at night. It catches up and it doesn’t feel that bad. I have a lack of insulation in the attic in that area and it’s being remedied on Tuesday. Can’t wait!

We set our temps at 74° at night and 80° during the day. Ceiling fans are whirling most of the time.

Since we're both retired, we choose to go shopping early afternoons so we can suck up the stores' cool air when we're out.

It's really not all that bad since we have 12' ceilings in the den and the house is very well insulated.

12.8 hours a day average which is higher because there have been covid infected people at my house the last 7-8 days.

Averaging 20 hours a day for the last week. I do have a two stage system though, but my stage 2 time is also up a lot with these crazy arse temps.
