What’s with the reverse advertising being done by restaurants now

I was just walking down the street and I saw a local restaurant car with a livery that said “Brian from yelp says our food is tasteless.”

I saw a very similar sign at a restaurant yesterday.

I kinda get it. Restaurants want to be confidence to the world world that they believe in their product, but a part of me thinks they’re just opening themselves up to unnecessary drama/trouble.

Anyone else seeing this/have any better insight than I do?

Eh it’s kinda funny to poke fun at people who leave shitty reviews.

I don’t mind it at all. Make light of a crappy thing.

Whiny Yelp reviews suck.

It was viral for a few restaurants the the random hostess or bartender who has good chalk penmanship and little other marketing skill set rolls with it

I can grasp it, just not all the time. I’m exhausted and especially dumb right now.

They should’ve just given him the Yelper Special

Livery for a car is like the color and decal design of it. i.e. all the decals and paint job on a nascar or formula 1 car are it’s livery. My use above doesn’t fully fit its true definition but it’s close enough.

Reminds me a place in Alec back in the 90's that had a billboard that said "The Worst Service in the USA". Never went there but saw it every time I drove thru. Always thought about stopping in, but never did.

Nothing new about it. Herbie K’s in Alexandria advertised themselves as having “The World’s Worse Service” for decades

That restaurant in Alex was Herbie Ks. Worlds best food with Worlds worst service. Apparently it was a hot place in the 60s and 70s. By the time I got old enough to date it was too sketchy for me. Never went inside. However my mom took me in when I was a baby and set me down by the piano player who played songs for me. She made alot of money in tips. So I guess it was real nice to have a lady playing the piano.

The support actors by supporting restaurants commercial is the worst thing I’ve ever seen in advertising

My favorite Yelp review is on a new Mexican place in Shreveport.

A lady from Haughton wrote: "The staff is extremely inexperienced young girls with booty shorts and its appalling."

I've been wanting to go ever since I read that. They should put it in their advertising.

I ate there and the service was pretty good. I kind of was disappointed.
