What I see most people who have trouble growing grass is they put the mower speed on full throttle and literally blow away all remnants of top soil and decaying organic matter which insulates the ground and conserves moisture. Without that, the sun bakes the hard clay and the hot clay kills the tiny roots. I only mow after a rain or watering and with a mulching non vacuum blade with the blade speed really low. Makes all the difference in the world after a few years. My grass under my live oaks look great.
Smoked a pack a day for 20 years. Stopped 15 years ago. Weaned down to pack every other day, then pack per week, then pack a month. Took about a year. Then one day just stopped and now they are so disgusting to be around. But damn I miss them still. Drinking coffee in the duck blind on a cold morning was the absolute best. Drinking beer, eating Crawfish. Actually some of by best times in life I was smoking. Maybe I need to go buy a pack.
Yes. Made the base out of 2 x 12. Covered it in cement board. Attached cement board to the wall with about 1/2 gap for air so wall wouldn't get hot. Then bricked it. My first real bricking project. Old brick is easy to work with. Entire project took about a month but still going strong after 20 years with no cracks and looks good.
Hey. I figured out how to do the link but not the actual pic.
I installed a woodburning stove. Enjoy it very much and paid about $1,000 twenty years ago. Now it's around $2,000. Get one with high efficiency and flue gas recirculation and a wheelbarrow load of wood will make a quarter cup of ash. I don't know how to attach a picture.
Send me a picture of what you had in mind and I will give you a price. Biggest variable will be what kind of wood you want. Google for examples.

They dont actually sell that oil, they loan it to the refineries and the refinery has to replace it with a similar crude slate. It's called trading barrels.

re: Educate me on Pool covers

My pool is free form in the shape of a kidney bean. I bought a 50% greenhouse shade cloth of the internet for about $250. It blocks 50% of the light. I laid it over the pool and outlined the pool form on the cloth. Then I took the cloth to a trucking tarp company in north Baton Rouge where they sewed a seam and grommets every 18 inches for $125. In October I run a stainless steel cable around my pool and zip tie the cover to the cable. Its tight and works well. Rain goes through but no leaves which we blow off once a week. Been using it 10 years now and probably get another 10 out of it.

Dude. Take some pictures of individual leaves. But best I can tell it's a white oak.
Had an Atlas for over 2 years now. So far it's very reliable and drives great.

Two brothers with what I suspect was cerebral palsy or something similar. They had a golf cart with what looked like special chairs for them to sit in in the back. So when you drove by you saw the back of the cart and them smiling and somewhat waving as you honked. Everyone honked. I miss seeing them as it has probably been 10 years since I last saw them. I hope they are doing ok and yeah, probably close to 30 by now.

With Eatel I had to find a TV with a Roku. Roku has the CBS Sports app that you can get.
If you put down weed n feed stop. The broad leaf herbicide poisons the trees a little every year and really stunts their growth. If you do use it get it nowhere near the feeder roots.
You need to fertilize again and it will come back. Had it for 20 years and have to fertilize 3 times a year otherwise small patches will start to brown.

Join one of the 2 or 3 Xpress groups on Facebook. You will learn all you need to know. The more I read the more I am thinking Excel.
If your looking for different species start picking different ecosystems. St Francisville in the hills has totally different birds than those 3 you mentioned. Same for the shores of Lake Ponchatrain.
It hurts like hell and done it several times. one thing to watch out for is that broken ribs occasionally get inflamed and an infection under the cellophane like lining of the ribs. It wont happen for a few weeks if it occurs but it will feel like Aliens coming out your chest.
Rhodesian ridgeback and catahoula cur. Had some mixes like this as a kid to go hog hunting with. Also very good protective watch dogs and could really bay a hog. Some were bad about catching though.
